Our crew is happy to meet you!

Paradise Scuba prides itself on having a highly-experienced, lively, and passionate set of professionals dedicated to you. Our captains are all USCG-licensed and highly trained to make sure your time with us is smooth sailing; Our Instructors and Specialty Instructors are here to hone your skills and take you to new depths; Our Divemasters and Snorkel guides know every nook and cranny of our reefs, to make sure you get the most out of every adventure!

Capt. Kiko Doitteau & Lourdes Rivera

Owners and co-founders | PADI Instructor

Kiko and Lourdes have been running Paradise Scuba & Snorkeling for over 30 years. Kiko himself has over 10,000 logged dives stemming from decades of diving adventures! These days, you can find Kiko at the shop working with anything from guest check-ins to permits and licensing for our operation to run like a swiss timepiece.

 

 

Ana Cristina Doitteau

Administrator | Booking & Schedule Coordinator

Ana is one of Kiko’s daughters and has grown up in and around the shop and is an important part of keeping our operation running. She also takes care of the crew’s trip schedule, customer service, and sales.

 

 

Angel “Lee” Guzman

PADI Dive Master, biologist, deckhand and Triathlete !

 

 

 

 

Fabian

USCG 100 G.T. Captain | PADI Divemaster

Fabian is a skilled captain, an avid spearfisher and a gifted freediver. He loves bachata, partying at the “cayos”, and is often found at car meets all over the island.

 

 

Johnny Ray

USCG 100 G.T. Captain | PADI Instructor

Johnny Ray embodies La Parguera’s vibe and culture; whenever he’s not scuba diving, he’s captaining boats along the mangrove “cayos”. If he’s not doing that, you’ll find him sailing around the mangrove channels and passages… and if he’s not doing that and if the wind is gusty enough, you’ll see him kite surfing and hopping over small sand bars in his free time. La PArguera has many ways to be enjoyed, and Johnny Ray knows all of them.

 

 

Chiqui

PADI Instructor | Underwater Photographer | Frontflip Enthusiast

Chiqui was born and raised in the ocean. He’s a pro deep-sea fisherman, our official Underwater Photographer and has been diving since he was a kid. As if that wasn’t enough, he’s also a skydiver, a roller-blader and a skilled cook! *Pro tip: If you want to get on his good side, bring him a slice of cheesecake from the bakery near our shop!

 

Edwin

PADI Instructor & Specialty Instructor | Website Editor

Edwin’s biggest passions are Scuba Diving, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and Photography. He used to work as a mechanical engineer before he decided to pivot and devote his life to living in the water. He keeps his skills sharp by taking on commercial diving jobs across the island. He’s also in charge of installing and maintaining the mooring buoys used at our dive sites.

 

 

“Jill”

PADI Divemaster | Dolphin Interpreter

Some say she crossed the seven seas on a unicycle, and that she once toured the US as a backup singer for a barbershop quartet.  All we know is…. she’s called “Jill”!! ” She’s a hard-working crewmate and an endless font of quick-witted jokes, and knowledge of 90’s pop-culture references. She started off as a Snorkel Guide and would typically run our snorkel trips and Bio Bay tours; Now she’s become a Divemaster and helps with dive classes, DSDs, and Wall Dives!

 

Adriana

PADI Divemaster

Raised in the ocean, Adriana is an avid diver and the newest addition to our crew! She has tons of experience both diving and managing a scuba operation. Whether she’s leading a Dive or a Snorkel trip you’ll always find her searching around the reef for little trinkets she’ll add to her “mermaid bank”. She loves music, partying, and being in the water which makes her a perfect fit for our team!

 

Joe Townsend

PADI Divemaster | 50 G.T.

Joe’s easily the saltiest of the Paradise Crew captains, he even lives aboard his own sailboat! He holds a Masters Degree in Marine Sciences and is currently a PhD candidate in Magueyes Research campus of the University of Puerto Rico. He’s been diving for 16 years for research, for work, and also for fun! If you’re ever aboard our vessel and we pass by a sailboat with two dogs that come out and say “Hi!”, those are Barney and Murray, Joe’s four-legged first mates!

 

Gaby

PADI Divemaster | Fleet Maintenance

Gaby is a skilled freediver, craftsman, carpenter, and fisherman. He’s tasked with performing air fills, maintaining our docks and ships as well as refuelling. Whenever he’s not working, he’s out hunting lobster with his buddies.

 

 

 

Chompi

PADI Divemaster | Fleet Maintenance

Born and raised as a fisherman in La Parguera, Chompi is tasked with making sure our vessels are running and in good shape. He is a skilled craftsman that can make anything out of fiberglass, additionally he also does dock maintenance along with Gaby.

 

 

Jonathan Vincenty

USCG 100 G.T. Captain | PADI Divemaster

Jonathan is Kiko’s nephew and has been helping out in the shop since he was a kid. He is an experienced snorkeling guide, and captain of our two privateers, “La Mimosa” and “La Mimosa Too”. He is also an amateur distance runner!

 

 

Bruno

First Mate | Certified Good Boy

Bruno isn’t the first four-legged team member to grace our crew. A kind-hearted Great Dane, he’s the one currently making sure our outings to the “cayos” run smoothly. Those who visit our shop frequently will have seen him join some of our trips. While underway, you can find him sitting by the helm near the captain. Don’t let his size fool or intimidate you, he’s always keen on getting a quick nuzzle or helping anxious guests relax and enjoy the trip.
